The ISH is fully booked up in anniversary year 2009. At the 50th birthday edition of the World’s Leading Trade Fair for the Bathroom, Building Services, Energy, Air Conditioning Technology and Renewable Energies, 2, 361 manufacturers, including all market and technology leaders, are presenting their latest products, trends and future-oriented solutions on over 250,000 square metres of gross exhibition space. Thus, the ISH in Frankfurt am Main from 10 to 14 March is the world’s biggest exhibition for innovative bathroom design, energy-saving heating and air-conditioning technology and renewable energies. The focus of this year’s ISH is on sustainability and energy saving, the two dominant subjects in the field of building equipment and services. Messe Frankfurt expects around 200,000 visitors to attend ISH 2009.
“The ISH generates positive signals in times of economic difficulty”, says Dr. Michael Peters, Member of the Board of Management of Messe Frankfurt. “We are optimistic about the future because the ISH shows products that not only increase the quality of life but also pro-tect the environment and cut costs. We also anticipate additional impulses from the second round of economic measures to be taken by the German government, which will include steps to improve the energy efficiency of public buildings.”
The spectrum of products to be seen at the ISH, the concept of which can be seen as bringing together two trade fairs at the same time and place, comprises fully developed technologies and solutions that are ready for immediate use.
At The Bathroom Experience, over 700 companies present the latest design developments together with modern, environmentally friendly sanitation technology under the motto, ‘Water for People’. At the world’s biggest showroom, the bathroom stands for quality of life, well-being and wellness, and thus makes a direct contribution to health. However, water is also the most important basis for life, a limited resource throughout the world, which calls for sustainable solutions. Accordingly, the sanitation industry will show how water consumption can be reduced using modern devices, how waste water can be treated and turned back into drinking water, and how easy-care materials fitted in the bathroom can reduce the amount of cleaning materials used.
In the field of energy, building-services and air-conditioning equipment, ‘green’ or environmentally-friendly building technologies, supply answers to the global challenges of today and tomorrow because, although buildings rank among the biggest consumers of energy, they also offer the greatest potential for cutting costs. At the ISH, the industry presents solutions based on a combination of energy efficiency, i.e., modern heating and air-conditioning technology, and renewable energies. In this connection, renewable energies are playing an increasingly important role, as shown by the comprehensive range of products to be seen at the ISH – from solar thermal energy conversion, photovoltaic, biomass, heat pumps and geothermal energy, wood & pellet furnaces and tiled stoves to solar-aided air-conditioning systems and heat recovery at Aircontec. Altogether, 1,350 manufacturers from the fields of energy, building-services and air-conditioning technology are exhibiting at ISH 2009, which makes it the world’s biggest trade fair for environmentally-friendly building-services technology.
Around 400 companies from the air-conditioning, cooling and ventilation technology sector are presenting innovative solutions for building climatisation under the Aircontec brand. Thanks to its concept as an association of events, its high degree of internationality and the holis-tic approach to energy consumption, Aircontec provides the ideal set-ting for technical solutions revolving around the subjects of air-conditioning, cooling and ventilation.
The two main sections of the ISH – The Bathroom Experience and Energy, Building Services and Air Conditioning Technology – are linked by the World of Installation Technology with around 350 exhibitors.
This year, the ISH celebrates a very special anniversary, as indicated by the superscript 50 in the ISH logo. “The ISH has been a great success for 50 years. As the world’s biggest exhibition for the sector, it has always supplied the right answers to global challenges”, says Michael Peters.
