Closing report: Complete success: CholodSummit Rossija 2010

CholodSummit Rossija 2010 Moscow“The CholodSummit is the first refrigeration event in the year and has established itself as a major get-together for the refrigeration industry in Moscow right from the start,” say Liudmilla Drosdova and Meike Krüger, the Event Managers of the CholodSummit in Russia and Nürnberg. “The summit is the meeting-place for the whole sector to discuss current tendencies and market trends. The exhibitors and speakers at the event confirmed the importance of this professional exchange of views in Russia,” Drosdova and Krüger continue.

The two-day CholodSummit Rossija can be summarized as a compact, top-calibre event. The summit programme on “Innovative refrigeration in the foodstuff chain” was highly topical and geared to the Russian market and food industry. The key topics at the summit were energy efficiency and environmental protection, so the organizers had chosen exactly the right issues. The participants were mainly from the food manufacturing, processing and transport industries, the food trade, facility management, manufacturers and suppliers of refrigeration equipment, and refrigeration contractors.

Dr. Rainer Jakobs, industry expert and speaker at the summit, sums up the two days: “The summit shows the great interest of the Russian refrigeration industry in a top-flight, specialist event like the CholodSummit. The priority here is quite clearly on the professional exchange of views and direct, high-quality dialogue. This is appreciated by the participants, who have found a common platform here. I’m convinced that the CholodSummit was a successful start for Chillventa Rossija 2011.”

Just how important the summit and the chosen topics are for Russia is also shown by the involvement of the following Russian ministries, associations and institutes: Ministry of Agriculture, Federal Agency for Fisheries, Refrigeration Industry Research Institute, and Fish Industry Research Institute. The Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Association of Belarus also supported the summit. Eduard Bagirian, Executive Director Russian Union of Refrigeration Industry Enterprises – Rossojusholodprom, was impressed: “We have already made two attempts to launch a refrigeration exhibition in Moscow – unfortunately without success! Now we have succeeded through the cooperation with NürnbergMesse, an experienced and high-quality exhibition organizer.”

The first highlights at the CholodSummit were the keynotes. Igor Kalnin, Head of Refrigeration and Cryogenic Engineering Department of the Moscow State University of Environmental Engineering, and Alexander V. Baranenko, President of the International Academy of Refrigeration (IAR), both gave initial insights into the food refrigeration chain in Russia, which set the agenda for the summit. The participants could also source information on topics such as “Energy efficiency and environmental protection”, “Innovative solutions in the foodstuff chain: Refrigeration applications for production, storage, transport and distribution”, “Heat pumps: Use of industrial waste heat” or “Legal, financial and administrative conditions for the development of the refrigeration industry in Russia”.

Satisfied exhibitors
Small but smart was the motto of the foyer expo parallel to the summit. Like the participants and speakers, the top international companies attending the event were also impressed by the concept and professionalism of the summit. “We very much welcome the format of the CholodSummit Rossija. As a plant assembler, we have direct contact with component suppliers, get a current overview of technical innovations and can present our company excellently as local service partner,” says Christoph Neuberg, Expansion Manager, Dresdner Kühlanlagenbau. Yuri Terpenianz, Deputy Director, Bitzer Kühlmaschinen, Russia, has a similar opinion: “The quality of the lectures and participants was excellent. The CholodSummit Rossija is the best platform for presenting “Innovative refrigeration in the foodstuff chain”. This subject is particularly topical for Bitzer, as we are presenting the integration of our new innovative compressors in energy-efficient system solutions for retail chains as part of a worldwide campaign.” The following companies are just as satisfied with the event in Moscow: “The organizers have succeeded in arranging a good combination of lectures and foyer expo. The right people were there and the quality of the lectures and visitors was excellent. We are very satisfied with the two days of the summit in Moscow,” says Peter Pintar, Sales Manager East Europe at Bock Kältemaschinen. Willy Löffler, Managing Director, Thermofin, is also satisfied: “The CholodSummit convinced the Russian experts. The organizers have succeeded in establishing a high-level summit tailored to the market in Moscow and have also approached the right participants.”

Chillventa Rossija celebrates premiere in Moscow in 2011
The CholodSummit was also the starting shot for Chillventa Rossija 2011. The International Trade Fair for Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps takes place in the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Center, Moscow, for the first time from 1–3 March. It is based on the concept of Chillventa in Nürnberg, which was successfully organized there in 2008. Chillventa Rossija 2011 will be the only event in Russia that comprehensively reflects the fields of refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pumps. It is a real novelty in Russia in this compact form. I am sure that Chillventa will be just as successful in Moscow as it is in Nürnberg, and I’m looking forward to Chillventa Rossija,” says Meike Krüger, Event Manager of Chillventa Rossija at NürnbergMesse.
