Natural Refrigerants – The Future of Refrigeration

eurammon is calling for submissions for the Natural Refrigeration Award 2009, a prize being awarded for the best academic thesis paper on the subject of natural refrigerants. The European initiative for natural refrigerants is jointly hosting the prize together with the “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, in Skopje, Macedonia, and the Belgian-Dutch trade publication Cool & Comfort. In sponsoring the Natural Refrigeration Award, eurammon seeks to provide support to promising young scientists and motivate them to do further research into refrigeration using natural refrigerants.
Eligibility Requirements
All graduates of universities, polytechnics, colleges and similar educational institutions, whose scientific paper has been accredited as a doctoral, master’s or bachelor’s thesis, or final paper for a similar degree are encouraged to apply. The thesis paper must be about refrigeration technology using natural refrigerants – e.g. ammonia, carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons, water or air – and must have been graded between January 2008 and June 2009.
Prizes
Three prizes will be awarded, with prize money totaling €5,000. In addition, eurammon will invite the three winners to present their thesis paper to an international audience at an event hosted by the initiative. The prize winners will be picked by an international panel of judges from science, business and the media. The judges’ decision is final. Prizes will be presented in fall 2009.
